Top Five Things to Know About Workday – for Leaders

As a Delaware North leader in North America, please learn more about this transformative step forward as we begin using a best-in-class system to simplify the way we handle many HR processes.

This is a big change – so, how is it simpler? Many of the same tasks people leaders and team members are responsible for today – in an array of different processes and systems – will be done in one reliable, intuitive and streamlined system.  Leaders and team members will be supported through these new processes with training, on-demand resources and the same trusted advisors they have from HR today.  

Top Five Things to Know

  • Team Member Self-Service and Help Desk Support – With team member self-service and Help Desk support, there will be new processes to follow. Leaders and team members will initiate tasks in Workday, and HR will support, review and approve them as needed. This includes tasks such as changing personal information, updating tax information and inputting talent information.
  • Manager (People Leader) Self-Service Capabilities and Expectations – With manager self-service capabilities, people leaders will initiate tasks in Workday, and HR will support, review and approve tasks. The collaboration between people leaders and HR will continue, but with Workday, there is an ability to track processes, enabling greater transparency
  • Automated Corrective Counseling Process within Workday – The Corrective Counseling process will be fully automated, simplified and consistent across the enterprise. The collaboration between people leaders, HR and Employee Relations will continue and be enhanced, as we will have more controls that protect our team members, people leaders and our company.in our people management processes. 
  • Performance Management – Year-end reviews, mid-year reviews and goal setting will take place in Workday starting in 2024. These changes will provide a fair and equitable review process, with more visibility into performance and talent data for our teams.
  • Talent Reviews and Succession Planning – New system capabilities provide visibility into team members’ skills, and systematic identification of team members who are appropriate for projects, development opportunities and key roles. It also offers succession planning capabilities for high-impact positions. Ultimately, better awareness into our talent bench and our team members’ capabilities will enable strategic movement of our team members across the enterprise and help us develop our teams effectively.
